Overview

Usio is worth a call if you run vertical software, especially in billing-heavy fields like healthcare, legal, property management, utilities, insurance or lending, and you want card, ACH and payouts from one provider with a revenue share. Its ACH depth is real: it is a Nacha Certified Third-Party Sender with Same-Day ACH, PINless debit and remotely created checks. Few payfac-as-a-service providers also issue prepaid cards and print and mail bills. We grade it B- because nothing about the price is public. No rate, monthly fee or termination fee appears on any Usio page, yet its 2025 annual report says most merchant customers sign long-term contracts, generally for three years. The only sub-merchant agreement we could read is a 2019 copy from one reseller's municipal deal, which let Usio hold reserves and delay payouts for long periods; it may not match today's terms. Public merchant feedback is also too thin to judge service at scale.

Best for: US software companies and ISVs that want to embed card and ACH payments for their customers and earn a share of processing revenue, and billers or lenders that need ACH, Same-Day ACH, PINless debit pushes or prepaid card disbursements from one vendor.

Strengths

  • + Card, ACH, PINless debit, real-time payments and prepaid card payouts all come from one vendor
  • + A Nacha Certified Third-Party Sender with Same-Day ACH, late cutoffs and instant account validation
  • + Software platforms can offer payments and share revenue without registering as a payment facilitator themselves
  • + A public company, so its sponsor banks, processors, volumes and lawsuits are disclosed in SEC filings
  • + G2 users rate it 5.0 from 24 reviews, mostly praising support, as of October 2026

Trade-offs

  • – No processing rates, monthly fees or termination fees are published on Usio's website
  • – Usio's 2025 10-K says most merchant customers sign long-term contracts, generally for three years, to use its services exclusively
  • – A 2019 sub-merchant agreement, the only one we could read, let Usio set reserves at its discretion and hold funds until 270 days after termination
  • – Almost no public merchant feedback: BBB has no rating or complaints and Trustpilot has no reviews
  • – A small company: 107 full-time staff and a $2.5 million net loss in 2025
  • – Built for software partners and billers, not for a single small shop that wants to sign up online

Fees in detail

  • Contract: Generally 3 years (2025 10-K)
