Overview

$45

Best for: Indian businesses selling online — D2C brands, SaaS, education, marketplaces and fintechs — that want every domestic payment method through one integration at a published rate a little under Razorpay's, and that also need bulk payouts, recurring mandates, vendor split settlements or rupee settlement of international card and PayPal payments from the same provider.

Strengths

  • + The published domestic rate of 1.95% plus GST (about 2.30% all-in) is a little below Razorpay's 2%, with no setup fee, and new merchants who sign up before 31 March 2027 pay no platform fee on their first ₹20 lakh of domestic volume.
  • + More of the price list is published than at Razorpay: instant settlement from 0.30%, per-transfer payout fees from ₹3, subscription mandate fees and split-settlement fees are all on the pricing page.
  • + Cross-border collections are a real strength: an RBI export-and-import cross-border authorisation, 140+ currencies, PayPal and Apple Pay, rupee settlement in about T+2 business days and a Foreign Inward Remittance Statement for every payment.
  • + One account covers collections, payouts, recurring mandates, vendor splits, identity verification and fraud screening, and Cashfree says it runs in-house card and UPI switches.
  • + Established and well backed: operating since 2015, RBI-authorised as an online payment aggregator since December 2023, and funded by Y Combinator, Apis, State Bank of India and KRAFTON.

Trade-offs

  • – In March 2026 the RBI fined Cashfree ₹3.10 lakh after an inspection covering April 2024 to June 2025 found it had made impermissible debits from the escrow account where merchants' money sits before settlement.
  • – The terms give Cashfree wide discretion: it can suspend or restrict an account without notice, withhold settlements if documents are not supplied within 24 hours, terminate at once above a 1% chargeback ratio, and keep settlement money for 180 business days after termination.
  • – Merchant reviews are poor: a 1.5 TrustScore from 43 Trustpilot reviews, 89% of them one star, and a 3.7 average from about 1,550 Google Play reviews of its business app. Complaints centre on support, slow activation and sudden deactivation.
  • – The standard settlement cycle is T+2. The 'Next-day Settlement' on Cashfree's homepage belongs to the new-merchant offer; for everyone else, anything faster than T+2 costs extra.
  • – Some prices are open-ended: the 1.95% domestic, 2.20% Pay Later and 0.20% Easy Split rates are shown beside struck-through higher figures (2.0%, 2.50%, 0.25%) with no end date, the international page's 2.69% 'Anniversary Offer' has no end date against a 2.99% standard rate, and a premium tier carries an annual maintenance charge that is not published.

Fees in detail

  • Online rate: 1.95% + 18% GST (domestic methods)
  • International: As of September 2026 the pricing page lists international Visa and Mastercard cards at a 2.99% platform fee and international American Expre
  • Disputes: Cashfree publishes no separate chargeback fee. When a customer's bank raises a dispute, Cashfree opens a dispute ID and the merchant uploads
