Overview

Paymob is an Egyptian-founded payment provider that also signs merchants directly in the UAE and Saudi Arabia through its own local companies. It publishes a real card rate for each country, has no monthly fee on its Egyptian and UAE pricing pages, and supports the local payment methods merchants there need: mada in Saudi Arabia, mobile wallets and kiosk cash in Egypt, plus instalment options. The grade stops at B- for four reasons. The Saudi website shows different card rates in different places. The UAE terms lock you in for 24 months and add AED 110 a month if you process less than AED 10,000. Both Gulf contracts let Paymob withhold settlements and keep disputed money for 120 days or longer. And its small UAE Trustpilot profile is dominated by complaints about held funds, unexpected fees and slow support.

Best for: Small and mid-sized online businesses registered in Egypt, the UAE or Saudi Arabia that sell mainly to local customers and want one provider for cards, local debit schemes, wallets and instalments. It also suits Egyptian retailers who want a card terminal with daily settlement.
