Overview

Pushpay is a capable, mature giving platform for large and growing churches. It does more than most rivals: card and ACH giving, text giving, check scanning, failed-gift recovery, a church management system and a branded app, all from one company, which in the US also sells and supports the church's card processing through its own ISO subsidiary. What holds the grade at B- is how you buy it. Prices are quote-only, discounts are confidential, contracts default to 36 months and renew automatically, you cannot cancel early without paying out the term, and Pushpay must be your only payment processor while the contract runs. Its BBB record is good, but the complaints it does get are mostly about being held to these contracts.

Best for: Mid-size to very large US churches, multi-campus churches and Catholic parishes that want giving, church management and an app from one vendor, and that have the giving volume to negotiate rates toward the bottom of Pushpay's published ranges.

Strengths

  • + In the US, each church gets its own Fiserv and KeyBank merchant account, sold, priced and supported through Pushpay's own ISO subsidiary
  • + Broad giving toolkit: app, web and text giving, check scanning, Donor Covers Fees, and Everygift recovery of declined and expired-card gifts
  • + Giving, church management and a branded app on one platform, plus a dedicated Catholic suite, ParishStaq
  • + Pushpay publishes processing ranges that vary with total giving volume, from 2.1% + $0.20 on cards and 0.5% + $0.20 on ACH at the bottom, as of August 2026
  • + BBB-accredited with an A+ rating, and every BBB complaint in the past three years received a response
  • + No setup fee, and no limit on users or administrators

Trade-offs

  • – Software prices are quote-only, and the contract makes any discount confidential
  • – Contracts default to 36 months, renew automatically for a term of the same length unless you give 90 days' notice, and cannot be cancelled early without paying the balance
  • – Pushpay must be your only payment processor while the contract runs
  • – Software fees can rise by up to 10% a year from each renewal, and discounts end after the first term
  • – Card processing carries a monthly account fee whose amount Pushpay does not publish
  • – Deposits take two business days for cards and about four for ACH, longer than the 'next-day' availability Pushpay's marketing describes
