Overview

Verotel is a legitimate, licensed, 28-year-old option for online-entertainment merchants who cannot get a mainstream account, and it is unusually honest about what it charges. It is also expensive, its contract gives it wide discretion over your money, and its public reputation is poor. Use it if you need a European card-acquiring route for adult or webcam content and you have priced in the 13–15.5% rate, the 10% six-month holdback and a slow settlement cycle. Do not use it as a general-purpose processor.

Best for: Adult, webcam, dating and other online-entertainment merchants selling subscriptions or tokens who want a European, regulator-licensed biller with a published price list, a built-in affiliate system and multi-currency pricing on the Premium tier.

Strengths

  • + Every fee is published — both tiers, all eleven volume steps, the recurring and chargeback surcharges, wire fees and the holdback — in a category where CCBill and Segpay publish no rates at all.
  • + Verotel is itself a regulated entity: Yoursafe B.V. holds a Dutch electronic-money-institution licence dated 22 October 2019 and a passport into all 30 EEA states, and the agreement says merchant funds are held by a separate escrow foundation rather than on Verotel's own balance sheet.
  • + No per-item chargeback or refund fees, and no fixed term or early-termination fee.
  • + Built for the vertical: subscription management, token-style FlexPay billing for cam sites, an affiliate network, NATS4 compatibility and pricing in nine currencies come with the account rather than as add-ons.
  • + Longevity — first transaction 15 January 1998, PCI DSS compliant since 2005, licensed as a Dutch payment institution in 2011 and a Visa/Mastercard payment facilitator in 2012.

Trade-offs

  • – The price: 13.0–15.5% of every sale plus 1.5% on renewals is several times what a mainstream processor charges and high even against other adult billers, and it buys card acceptance rather than a lower-risk relationship.
  • – 10% of every charge is held for 26 weeks on all accounts, Verotel may raise that at its discretion, and post-cancellation balances are released six months after the last invoice — a long time to have working capital tied up.
  • – The agreement is one-sided: Verotel may terminate without cause, block whole countries, register you with acquirers under a power of attorney, and amend the contract by sending a new version that stands unless you object within 15 days.
  • – The Trustpilot profile carried a 1.8 TrustScore over 15 reviews, every one of them one star, as of September 2026, with recent merchant complaints about drawn-out onboarding, unexplained declines and unresponsive support.
  • – De Nederlandsche Bank imposed an order subject to penalty on Yoursafe B.V. in February 2026 for failing to file its audited 2024 accounts by the deadline; the €12,500 penalty became payable and the company withdrew its objection in April 2026.
  • – The site's own claims are inconsistent — 'daily payouts' on the pricing page against a weekly invoice paid 14 days later in the agreement — and the pricing page still carries a 2023 copyright.
