Overview

Aeropay is a real pay-by-bank network rather than a reseller, and for the two industries it knows best — regulated gaming and cannabis — it solves a problem the card networks will not. The partner list is not decoration: Cross River, MVB, Regent Bank, Worldpay and now Jack Henry are the kind of counterparties that only sign after diligence, and the product genuinely does what account-to-account payments are supposed to do, with deposits authorised instantly and withdrawals settling in seconds over RTP and FedNow. Two things hold the grade at B-. Nothing about the price is public, so a merchant cannot compare it to the card cost it is meant to beat without going through sales. And the Better Business Bureau rates the company F with a pattern-of-complaints alert, driven by end-users describing money that did not arrive when expected and support that did not answer — a consumer-side record, not a merchant one, but the consumers in question are your customers, and their bad day becomes your support ticket.

Best for: Businesses whose customers are already comfortable connecting a bank account and where card acceptance is expensive, capped or unavailable: online gaming, daily fantasy sports and prediction markets, cannabis retail, and high-ticket or subscription businesses where interchange is the largest line on the statement. It fits best where volume is large enough that a percentage point of processing cost matters more than the convenience of a saved card, and where you have the support capacity to handle a bank-transfer failure yourself.

Strengths

  • + It owns its own bank aggregator. Aerosync, launched in July 2024, is Aeropay's own connectivity layer rather than a resold one, which is what lets it control onboarding and coverage instead of passing through a vendor's limits.
  • + Withdrawals actually are fast. Payouts settle in seconds over RTP and FedNow where the receiving bank supports them, with Same-Day ACH as the fallback — a genuine improvement on the multi-day wait that drives most gaming payment complaints.
  • + The banking and network partnerships are substantive and recent: Cross River for instant payouts and Request for Payment on the RTP network, MVB Bank, Regent Bank, a Worldpay collaboration for gaming and a Jack Henry integration announced in June 2026.
  • + It is specialised in exactly the industries where cards are the problem. Cannabis and regulated gaming are not verticals a general processor picks up casually, and Aeropay has been working in them since 2017 and 2023 respectively.
  • + The compliance posture is stated plainly: registered as a money transmitter where required, operating under BSA/AML standards, complying with NACHA operating rules, and working with state gaming regulators.
  • + The product is sold in pieces — bank connection, risk, money movement, failed-transaction resolution — so a business that already has an aggregator or its own risk engine can buy only what it is missing.

Trade-offs

  • – The Better Business Bureau rates Aeropay F, with a pattern-of-complaints alert and seven complaints recorded as unanswered. Whatever the source of those complaints, an unanswered pattern alert is a choice the company made repeatedly.
  • – The complaints describe the failure mode that matters in account-to-account payments: transfers that did not arrive when the customer expected them, unrecognised charges, and support that did not reply.
  • – No pricing is published anywhere — no per-transaction fee, no percentage, no monthly minimum, no payout charge. The whole pitch is that bank transfers cost less than cards, and you cannot check that claim without going through sales.
  • – Contract length, notice period and any early-termination terms are not published either, so everything about the commitment is whatever your agreement says.
  • – The headline numbers are all self-reported: 50% cost savings against cards, a 90% approval rate, 20% better conversion, 99% bank coverage, onboarding in 15 seconds. None of them is independently verifiable and all of them are marketing.
  • – Revenue concentration is high. Gaming was about 80% of revenue as of August 2024, which ties the company's fortunes to one regulated industry and to the state-by-state rules that govern it.
